Measure for Measure

"Ay, but to die, and go we know not where;
To lie in cold obstruction and to rot;
This sensible warm motion to become
A kneaded clod; and the delighted spirit
To bathe in fiery floods, or to reside
In thrilling region of thick-ribbed ice; ... 'tis too horrible!"
Act III, scene I

These two portrayed Isabella and Angelo in the English Touring Theatre's Fall 1997 performance of Measure for Measure. A surreal, postmodern (and yet Brechtian) production, the acting was all around superb and entertaining. Higgs especially was marvelous as Angelo: sympathetic yet vile, attractive yet repulsive.
